How does a builder qualify as a Registered Master Builder?
The membership criteria are very strict with builders having to meet a broad range of requirements around qualifications and
period of service, financial stability of the business and references.
Specific requirements include the applicant must have either a minimum of six years building experience and also have completed at least three years
in business on their own account, or in day to day management of a building business. A company applicant must have been continuously managed
for the past six years by an individual or individuals who meet the above criteria and in addition to the above requirements, an applicant must satisfy
the local Association and the Federation of continuous solvent trading of the individual applicant or company,
together with satisfactory management of the business. Further, applicants must provide current and satisfactory written references from their bank,

What is the Guarantee scheme?
The Master Build 7-Year Guarantee has a proven track record of 14 years, and it is only available to residential clients of Registered Master Builders.
It aims to protect the client in the instance of loss of deposit, non-completion and faulty workmanship. (Conditions do apply).
What Building work should have a Master Build Guarantee?
· All new residential houses (not exceeding three levels)
· All new residential apartments (not exceeding three levels)
· All new free-standing garages built on a residential section.
· All residential alterations and additions work with a contract price of $25,000 or over.
· All Labour-Only work with a contract price of $25,000 or over.
