Supreme Winners Announced

On Friday night we announced the Bay of Plenty and Central Plateau House of the Year winners for 2021. 

This year,  there were 33 beautiful homes entered from around the Bay of Plenty and Central Plateau region. The much anticipated event was celebrated at the Trustpower Baypark in Tauranga and was a fantastic night of celebration. We hope everyone who attended had a great night. 

Supreme House of the Year

This home also won the Resene New Home Over $2 Million Category, the Pink Batts Craftmanship Award and the Plumbing World Bathroom Excellence Award. 


This magnificent, well-designed beachside home is truly impressive. The home is single-storey on a flat building site, however due to minimum floor heights and flood management controls, this home sits on timber piles driven up to 10m deep, perched 1.6m above the ground. It took approximately 8,000 hours just to landscape this property, and as a result it all flows beautifully.

The home is clad in greyed colour horizontal cedar with vertical battens, the ceilings and walls were a real challenge, however all of this effort paid off to produce a stunning home.  

Up against some stiff competition, this home has been built to very high standards. The home is understated, but superbly designed and crafted with an openness that maximises the amazing views in all weather conditions. It features tasteful interiors with landscaping that complements the home.

Supreme Renovation of the Year

This home also won the Bunnings Renovation Over $1 Million Category and the Outdoor Living Excellence Award.

 

This superb home has undertaken a significant renovation as well as a substantial addition. The renovation has transformed this home which is spread over three levels with the ground floor flowing nicely through to the courtyard and pool. It has been carefully designed to create a home for entertaining with the luxuries of today’s modern standard. 

The open plan cabana adds a nice ambience to the outdoor area along with the swimming pool. The cabana itself is a sleek, simple, concrete design with all exposed surfaces. It is truly a delightful area to hang out in or entertain as it also features a fire and an adjacent bathroom. Both have been designed in complete contrast to the newly renovated home. It was a very tight site to carry out construction work, but it all came together in the end with great collaboration between the owners, builders, neighbours, and designers.
