Bay of Plenty & Central Plateau
Supreme Winners Announced

On Friday night we announced the Bay of Plenty & Central Plateau House of the Year winners for 2022.

This year,  there were 44 beautiful homes entered from around the Bay of Plenty & Central Plateau region. The much anticipated event was celebrated at the Claudelands Event Centre and was a fantastic evening of celebration. We hope everyone who attended had a great night.

Supreme House of the Year - Over $1 Million

CALLEY HOMES
For a Home in Welcome Bay

This home also won the Resene New Home $2 million - $4 million category, and a Gold Award.

This outstanding home has been designed to take advantage of the stunning views over the Tauranga region. The house is placed at the end of a long, winding, rural road, which slowly reveals itself with the striking black Abode cladding positioned to provide a glimpse into the generous lobby. A large pivot door with oak vertical ribs welcomes visitors into the generous entranceway that features a burnished polished concrete floor. This attention to detail is followed throughout the interior joinery with a feature pivot door revealing the main living space terraced down to a sunken lounge.

Supreme House of the Year - Under $1 Million

DAVID REID HOMES TAUPŌ
For a Home in Wharewaka

This home also won the Volume/Group Housing New Home $500K - $750K category, and a Gold Award

This win is a great result for a volume builder, who completed the build within a 6-month period. There is a very high standard of finish and detail throughout, including the nicely oiled vertical cedar boards, of which the off cuts were used to create planter boxes.  Space has been well optimised with a generously sized kitchen and large rooms, this consideration to space also extends to the deck which has been cleverly placed between two pavilions. All trades can be proud of their contribution to creating an exceptional home at the given price point.

Supreme Renovation of the Year

URBO HOMES
For a Home in Lake Rotoiti

This home also won the Renovation up to $750,000 category, and a Gold Award.

This historic, 100-year-old fishing cottage located on Lake Rotoiti has been renovated in a manner that preserves the original character. The home has been in the family for many generations, and to preserve it for future generations, all facilities have been updated to a very high standard. This includes modernised insulation, cladding, a new kitchen, and master bedroom with ensuite. A fun feature is the retention of the dart hole covered door and wall surrounding the old dart board, this serves as a reminder to those who have missed in the past.
