Master Builders Events and Meetings Vaccination Policy

2 December 2021

Good morning,

RMBA is committed to providing a safe workplace for everyone we work with – our staff, members, suppliers, competition entrants and other stakeholders, as well as the wider community. And, as you are aware, we strongly support the Government’s stance on the crucial role of vaccinations in the fight against COVID 19.

To align with the new COVID-19 Protection Framework, or Traffic Light System, coming into effect this Friday and to give everyone a clear way forward that keeps everyone safe and allows our business to operate effectively for our members, from 3 December 2021, we will have the following policy in place for our events and meetings:

All RMBA events/meetings and executive meetings, can only be attended, and staffed by people who are fully vaccinated*. This applies to RMBA staff, venue staff, attendees, presenters/speakers, supplier’s staff (e.g., catering and AV) etc.

This policy applies to all RMBA events and meetings, including executive meetings, from 3 December 2021.

This approach will:
  • Protect the health and safety of staff, attendees, and the wider community
  • Enable events to go ahead at all levels of the protection framework allowing us to deliver this valued benefit to our members and the wider industry
  • Enable us to deliver an uncompromised event experience
  • Provide certainty and a clear way forward
  • Give us venue and supplier choice as the vast majority of venues and suppliers we work with have the same policy in place.

Proof of Vaccination
Proof of vaccination will be required to attend an RMBA event. Proof of Vaccination is the Ministry of Health issued My Vaccine Pass, this is the only form of proof that will be accepted. Information on how to get your vaccine pass can be found here.

These passes will be scanned by RMBA/venue staff when entering the event using the Ministry of Health’s NZ Pass Verifier app.

A negative COVID-19 test is not accepted as an alternative to a My Vaccine Pass.

Exemptions
We understand that a very limited amount of people can’t have the vaccine and are exempt. In this instance, proof of a valid exemption certificate, issued by the Ministry of Health, is required to attend a Master Builders event.

I understand that this is a big change to the way we operate and appreciate your support of this approach as we all work together in taking the next step in living as safely as possible with COVID-19.
