Request for transfer

To transfer a guarantee into your name, you need to:

Submit a Request for Transfer form within 90 days of settlement. For a copy of the form, email: help@masterbuilder.org.nz
Confirm the guarantee is in the vendor’s name (you can ask the vendor for a copy of their guarantee certificate).
Confirm you have made a full inspection of the home and accept the guarantee’s terms and conditions.
Provide the guarantee number and dwelling address as a reference.
Pay a fee of $400 (including GST).

All transfer requests are subject to our approval. The first transfer of a guarantee from an approved development to a homeowner is free (provided it is submitted within 90 days of settlement).

If you sell your home, let buyers know a guarantee is available and help pass along the valuable peace of mind. To be transferred, the guarantee must be in your name as the vendor.

A guarantee can be transferred any number of times within the life of its cover (but this does not extend the period of cover).
