We need your feedback on international recruitment and the border exception, visa and MIQ process
We are seeking feedback on the group allocation application process with Immigration New Zealand for MIQ places.
Last month, the Government announced the group allocation of 60 places per month in MIQ for the construction sector. These places are available to people working in the construction sector who've obtained a border exemption and a visa to enter the country. People with a border exemption and a visa to enter can apply for one of these group allocation places where they have been unable to secure a place in MIQ through the normal booking process, for the date they are needed in New Zealand.
We have been hearing that there have been no applications received for the group allocation for the last two rounds, and that this is due to blockages that sit at the border exemption and visa end of the process. We want to better understand where and how these blockages are manifesting so that we can accurately inform decision-makers on the needs of our sector.
We've joined forces with Civil Contractors New Zealand, Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects and ACE New Zealand to develop a survey to get your specific feedback which we can then take to the Government.
We'd appreciate your feedback by Thursday 8 July.
