Constructive 2023
Time for Bold Collective Action
9 February 2023
2023 is the year for action. New Zealand, alongside other countries, is facing a challenging year. The economic consequences of Covid, among them inflation, and the monetary and fiscal responses to Covid’s aftermath, mean many New Zealanders are experiencing cost of living pressures. Government finances are also under strain. This creates a hugely challenging backdrop for the building sector.
The Constructive Forum provides insights to navigate the changing conditions and calls on sector leaders and Government to act. In an election year, this is the time to ensure your voice is heard.
We still need to address the boom-bust cycle that continues to plague our sector. This is a key contributor to our current housing and infrastructure deficit. Every cycle it strips our workforce and limits our ability to build as the cycle improves. We must work with Government to minimise this cycle.
Our sector must also lift its productivity. There are key initiatives already underway that can significantly improve the way we operate – consenting and RMA reform, and procurement. Climate action is also a key priority. Our sector has a critical role to play in addressing emissions and waste. Innovation has a role to play here – find out what others are doing to create change.
Drive the debate and be part of the solution.
Save the date and be part of the solution.
Constructive is different. It is the only construction industry forum that brings the entire construction supply chain together, from Government decision makers through to those out in the community delivering the projects, to find practical solutions based on collaboration.
