Is the 2021 Apprentice of the Year winner working for you?

22 April 2020

Entries are closing in just one week (on 29th April) for the Master Builders CARTERS Apprentice of the Year 2021.

Does your apprentice have what it takes to be the 2021 winner?
Come on then, put your money where your mouth is, get them to put their skills to the test and enter now!

Remember - entry is open to all carpentry apprentices, not just those who work for a Master Builder or are trained by BCITO.

What's in it for you?

Apprentice of the Year celebrates you for taking the time to invest in your apprentices and by giving back to the industry.

Attracting talent is getting harder and harder, so show that you value your staff and produce the best of the best.

The benefits you'll get, besides bragging rights, are:

  • Meeting industry leaders and getting acknowledged for encouraging future leaders
  • Gaining exposure for your business for having a top apprentice
  • Recognition as a great employer for helping your apprentice realise their potential
  • The opportunity to win the Employers Award for mentoring the national winner
  • Attracting talent by showing you invest in and value staff and the future of the industry

Check out the Entry Guide, or get straight on our website to find out more.

Your apprentices have to be:

  • Be 30 years old or younger on 31 December 2021 and therefore born after 1 January 1991.
  • Be currently employed by, or contracted to a building firm or a builder at the time of the regional competition being judged (they do not need to be a Registered Master Builder).
  • Have completed at least two years of your National Certificate in Carpentry on-site by 29 April 2021 and still be an apprentice at the time of entries close on Wednesday 29 April 2021.
  • You can only enter the competition a maximum of two times, provided you are not a national winner the prior year - in which case you may not enter again.
