Supreme Winners Announced

On Saturday night we announced the Southern House of the Year winners for 2022.

This year,  there were 30 beautiful homes entered from around the Southern region. The much anticipated event was celebrated at the Dunedin Town Hall and was a fantastic evening of celebration. We hope everyone who attended had a great night.

Supreme House of the Year - Over $1 Million

TRINITY QT CONSTRUCTION
For a Home in Queenstown

This home also won the New Home over $4 million Category, Pink Batts Craftsmanship Award, Plumbing World Bathroom Excellence Award, Outdoor Living Excellence Award, and a Gold Award.

This has been an outstanding team effort from the beginning between the architects, builders and sub-trades, and interior designer. All involved have clearly worked tirelessly to fulfil the homeowner’s dream. With such an expansive large project, complex structure and sophisticated detailing, focus on construction programming and a high-level workmanship was a priority set from the beginning. It was a pleasure to judge this stunning home and fully appreciate the vision created.

Supreme House of the Year - Under $1 Million

BUILDCRAFT
For a Home in Wanaka

This home also won the New Home $500,000 - $750,000 Category, and a Gold Award.

This architecturally designed home meets the owners’ vision of a home that inspires genuine holiday living. The western red cedar vertical cladding and eyebrow feature and soffits showcase the builders’ careful attention to detail and outstanding workmanship. Everything is fixed, level, and accurate. This high level of finish continues internally, with many of the outstanding features developed by the builders themselves. It was easy to see the level of pride and care taken. A great holiday home and a deserving award winner.

Supreme Renovation of the Year

ROGER GILCHRIST BUILDING SERVICES
For a Home in Oamaru

This home also won the Renovation over $1.5 million category, and a Gold Award.

This renovation was a massive undertaking, requiring great skill and attention to detail. As is the case for homes of this era, nothing tends to be level, square, or constructed as first thought. And true to form, this project was no different. Problem solving, and coming up with alternate solutions for the owner, played a big part in getting the renovation over the line. Supreme in every sense of the word, the home’s restored beauty and grandeur is testament to what was a great team effort - all involved should be very proud.
