Central North Island Supreme Winners Announced

On Saturday night we announced the Central North Island House of the Year winners for 2024. 

This year, there were 16 beautiful homes entered from around the Central North Island region. The much anticipated event was celebrated at the The Devon Hotel in New Plymouth and was a fantastic evening of celebration. We hope everyone who attended had a great night.

This home also won Pink Batts Craftsmanship Award, New Home over $4 million Category, Plumbing World Bathroom Excellence Award, Kitchen Excellence Award, Outdoor Living Excellence Award, and a Gold Award.

A bold client, spectacular site, unique design, and unparalleled execution have defined this extraordinary home. Made up of two main pavilions, which are equal yet opposite. One features an angular Corten rainscreen envelope with a moody interior, the other is a mostly buried in-situ concrete sleeping bunker with gentle timber features inside. This contrast demanded a balanced team of experts with skills across many areas of construction. 

This dwelling is a masterclass in design restraint, with carefully arranged spaces and materials allowing the incredible landscape to seep inside. The complexity in design has been matched entirely in its execution, with every detail built to perfection, without compromising function or performance. This home truly exemplifies excellence, making it a deserving winner of the Supreme House of the Year Award.
